Celebrating our Volunteers (and a request for more)

Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month? So it seems like the perfect opportunity to thank our volunteers who support us in so many ways. Of course we have our 70+ active volunteer mentoring matches (which means 90 volunteer mentors since some are couple matches) who are the backbone of our mentorship program, but aside from this so many from different walks of life come out to help with our events throughout the year (about 25 in the past year).

Aside from a general volunteer list, we have some specific skills we’re also looking for:

  • Event-related

    • Centerpieces

    • photography

    • Event Committee

    • general help

    • items & services procurement

    • writing thank you letters

    • data entry & spreadsheets

  • communications/tech

    • generalist (could help with social media, writing blog posts, etc.)

    • Google grant expert

    • SEO expert

    • influencers who can help promote mentoring within their networks

    • graphic designer (we want some new stickers)

I want to help!

Some of our amazing volunteers from the past year:

Lots of love to those who serve us our special beverages!

Volunteers (like Karsyn on left) often work hand-in-hand with staff to make processes run efficiently

Sometimes our volunteers are on the younger side like these staff member children, assisting a lead volunteer server at our mentor appreciation event.

This volunteer had goats and brought them to our mentor appreciation event so that everyone could enjoy some goat cuddles.

High-school student Anya helped out where needed during Bowl-a-Thon 2022 while Kristin led our Bowl-a-Thon planning committee.

Amanda shared her professional photography skills with us during Bow-a-Thon 2022.

Board member (and pastoral staff at Door of Hope SE), John C, has been a successful rounder-up of the troops for several recent events.
