Immigration Legal Services

Portland prides itself in being welcoming to those born outside of the United States. While this is not always the experience of those who immigrate here, we are honored to partner with several non profit agencies in our area who strive to make the transition to an American experience just a bit more gentle.

We can all relate to the frustration of government paperwork. From FAFSA to taxes or anything in between, it is hard enough when we DO speak English natively to complete paperwork. Just imagine having limited English skills, if any, and having to deal with official paperwork required to further your family’s ability to legally stay in Oregon!

This is where Immigrant Connection PDX can help. As a low-cost legal service, ICPDX is part of a nation-wide, church-based response to God's call to welcome and serve our immigrant neighbors.

Since 2014, Immigrant Connection (national) has partnered with over 80 churches to support them in answering God’s call to love and serve immigrants. Partner churches have engaged in Bible studies on God’s heart for immigrants and book studies about the immigrant story, offered community programs like conversational English or citizenship classes, and opened immigration legal service sites.

Locally we are teaming up with Columbia View Church in northeast Portland to get the word out. With as much as 19% of our mentee families from an immigrant or refugee background, we want to do all we can to help point our families in the right direction so they can thrive and find the help they need to settle well in our corner of this great land.

If this sounds like something you’d like to get involved with, consider coming to the luncheon on May 18th.

If you or someone you know has a question relating to immigration, you can schedule a $40 consultation to meet with one of their DOJ Accredited Representatives to answer your legal questions and assist with a variety of immigration case types.
