Oaks Park 2023

Memories were made on Saturday, August 12th at Oaks Park! Check out the proof through this photo essay. Definitely our biggest turnout yet!

Right around noon our group began to gather at picnic area #5. Check-in and ride bracelet distribution happened at this table. By 2pm we had so many people arrive that we had to buy a few extra tickets! Clearly, our end of summer Oaks Park event is a favorite!

Board Member John C. recruited a team of volunteers from local churches who kept us all happy with delicious hot dogs, lemonade and chips.

Program Director Curtis gave a quick welcome and thanks to those who made this event happen and those who attended.

Before the eager kids headed to their favorite rides, we got this group photo that doesn't include those who arrived a little later. All in all we had about 150 in attendance. It was our biggest Oaks Park event so far!

Our Executive Director Al demonstrated an impressive magic trick to some of the younger family members from this group of siblings who have several of their kids enrolled in our program as mentees.

Before long the kids got to do what they had come for. Ride the rides!

Lauren and her mentee getting ready for The Spider.

Matt and his happy mentee were just getting started...

Mentor and Board Member Tanya Williamson races down the Big Pink Slide with her mentee Aaliya's sister.

This mentee was pretty sure she would die a painful death as she spun and went upside down. She really had to psyche herself up to try something this crazy :)

...but she lived to tell the tale.

And now for the photo dump… hope you find some gold!
